Indonesien, 1. Teil: Süd-Bayern trifft West-Java

Klich here for English version

Indonesia, Part 1: Bavaria meets West Java

5 days Hongkong crazyness, 15 hours Kuta/Bali shock and further to Java, the big indonesian island with its capital Jakarta.

Because of the national holiday there were no rooms available in the pretty remote costal area around Cimaja. That’s why we had to share a double room with 3 other people. 3 other people means – Kathrin and Niculin the 2 nomados (www.nomados.ch) that we were really looking forward to meet and Daniela who was travelling with them. That also meant that the girls had majority what’s really rare in those surf destinations.

After 2 days in Cimaja we went on to a wonderful, wonderful place – a small village in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by rice fields, with a great bay and a great (2 days even very big) lefthand wave – thanks for the hint, Tom! At our homestay we hooked up with the only western guys around – and they were from southern Bavaria: Neumarkt, Landshut, Rosenheim (sorry Nic but we just take your swiss roots not into consideration here…), Allgäu, Bad Reichenhall… Our crew was joined by Patrick, Claudio, Tino and Leon and we had some great, relaxed, well entertained days with some good surf, snapped boards, delicious food, Bintang headache, a little trip to Batman Cave and nice conversations. Thanks boys and girls for that great time…
Surrounded by so much “home” we see that there are quite a few things that we are missing… – a good feeling!

That week was a nice start for our 2 months in Indonesia… We managed to meet Kathrin and Niculin (they started their trip about 3 month earlier than we did) what made us really happy and could get great hints, buy a surfboard from them, and simply exchange experiences, thoughts and ideas. It was a great time and we really hope it was not the last time we saw each other on our trips… 😉

Kathrin and Niculin went on to Australia now – the two of us and Daniela to the next indo island – Sumbawa…
