“Ich bin beschäftigt” (I am busy) lässt sich nicht auf philippinisch übersetzen. Dieses Wort exisitiert einfach nicht… Und mit dieser Tatsache lassen sich auch unsere 3,5 Wochen auf der kleinen, netten Insel Siargao ziemlich gut beschreiben.
WAS MACHT IHR EIGENTLICH DEN GANZEN TAG?
Ähm ja, eigentlich schon immer irgendwas… Langweilig war’s uns sicher nicht! Aber all unsere “Beschäftigungen” gingen in der westlichen Welt als solche nicht durch: den 3. Nescafé trinken, Wäsche mit der Hand waschen, mit dem Motorrad zum Pier fahren, nach den Wellen schauen und danach im besten Falle ins Wasser springen, bisschen mit dem Boot rumpaddeln, eine Tour durch’s Dorf machen und dabei das ein oder andere Mal für einen Ratscher stehen bleiben, in Rekordzeit ein Buch lesen, Slacklinen, die iTunes Bibliothek sortieren oder über Skype mit zuhause telefonieren…
WO WOHNT IHR DENN DA?
In dem extrem netten “Siargao Inn”, ein Platz am Meer einer Bar/Restaurant und 6 Bungalows, wovon einer uns gehört. Rico aus Hamburg ist der Chef hier, aber seine Frau, Neldie, die eigentliche Chefin und eine unglaubliche Surferin… Dort wurden wir schnell ein Teil der großen Siargao Inn Family und haben es extrem genossen…
UND WIE IST ES EIGENTLICH SO AUF DER GROSSEN REISE? MEGA, ODER?
Das ist die Frage, auf die uns eigentlich am wenigsten einfällt… Natürlich, ja, es ist mega! Ganz unglaublich sogar, aber wir laufen jetzt nicht den ganzen Tag kopfschüttelnd durch die Gegend, weil wir es nicht fassen können, wie gut es uns geht. Man kommt schon auch rein in so einen Reise-Alltag, vor allem, wenn man endlich mal ein bisschen länger an einem Ort sein darf. Da konnten sich jetzt auch endlich die vielen Eindrücke der Wochen vorher etwas setzen und unser Hirn hat neue Bewegungsfreiheit erlangt, d.h. man macht sich schon mal die ein oder anderen Gedanken über das, was wir gerade machen oder das, wie wir uns künftig etwas vorstellen… aber jetzt fragt bitte nicht WAS? oder UND WIE? We don’t know yet…
Rückblickend war die Zeit in Siargao sehr wertvoll, hinsichtlich der Leute, die wir kennen gelernt haben, dem Meer mit seinen Wellen und unserem “Reisefeeling”. Die Option, dorthin nocheinmal zurückzukehren klingt momentan extrem verlockend, aber jetzt ist erst einmal Indonesien dran…

You can’t translate “i’m busy” into tagalog (philippine language). That word just does not exist …. And this fact describes our 3,5 weeks on the small and remote island of Siargao pretty well.
WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING THE WHOLE DAY?
Hm, well – we are doing something pretty much all the time … it’s not getting boring for sure! But there are quite a few “activities” that would not be too common in the western world: drink the 3rd Nescafè in a row, do laundry by hand, go to the pier by motorbike to check the waves and jump into the water in best case, paddle a little bit around with a small boat, tour through the village and stop for a few chats, read a book within very short time, slacklining, organize the itunes library or skype with home from a super remote place…
WHERE DO YOU GUYS STAY?
In a extremely nice place – the “Siargao Inn”. By the sea, with a small bar / restaurant and 6 bungalows. Rico is from Hamburg and is the boss. But his philippina wife Neldie is the true chief and a really good surfer… We became a part of the Siargao Inn family pretty quickly and that was really nice…
AND HOW IS IT OVERALL? HOW IS THE TRIP? CRAZY, HA?
That’s the most common question that we get asked… and the most difficult one to answer. Of course, it’s crazy and really, really nice! Extraordinary even! But we are not overwhelmed every single second, thinking about how good everything is the whole day. There is kind of a travel routine coming up – especially after being at one place for a little longer. Finally many of the impressions could be digested and our minds are a bit more free. Means there are some thoughts coming up about what we are doing right now and what’s the possible future scenarios… but please don’t ask WHAT? or HOW? We don’t know yet…
Looking back the time on Siargao was quite important – regarding the people that we met, the ocean and its waves and our “travel feelings”. The option to return to Siargao during our trip sounds nice… but first we gonna head to Indonesia…
