Indonesien, Teil 3b: Familienurlaub auf Bali

Das letzte Mal Urlaub mit Mama war ca. 15 Jahre her, d.h. ich war halb so alt… Deshalb war die Vorfreude jetzt wohl auch um so größer. Außerdem war es genau zur richtigen Zeit eine “Unterbrechung der Weltreise”. Es wurde anders gereist, anders gehaust und zudem die Insel Bali besichtigt, von der ich sonst wahrscheinlich nur die Kuta Gegend und ein paar surfbare Strände nach Norden und Süden kennengelernt hätte.

Auch wenn man sagen muss, dass “die Insel der Götter” inzwischen vollkommen in Hand der Touristen ist, gibt es doch einige sehr nette Fleckerl und viel zu lernen… So zum Beispiel die Sache mit dem ominösen Reis. Man traut sich es ja nicht wirklich zu sagen, dass wir es nicht wussten, wie das funktioniert mit dem Anbau, der Ernte usw., aber das Geheimnis ist gelüftet und wenn’s wen interessiert, kann er fragen.

Ja, wirklich genossen hab ich diese zwei Wochen… und dabei festgestellt, dass das Bedürfnis nach einem Cola am Tag und Bier am Abend genetisch veranlagt ist! Danke Mama…

Family Holiday in Bali

The last time I went on holiday with my mum was about 15 years ago…
That’s probably why I was looking forward to it very much. Besides, it was exactly the right time to have a break with “world travel backpacker style”. We travelled in a different way, had different accomodation and visited the island of Bali of which I would have seen otherwise just the Kuta area and some surfing beaches nearby.

Although I have to admit that the “Island of Gods” is now completely in the hand of tourists, there are still some nice spots to discover and some interesting things to learn… For example about the myterious rice. It’s a shame to tell that we haven’t really had an idea about the planting and harvesting of the white (and red and black) stuff we ate every day, but now we are wiser and if anybody wants to know, feel free to ask.

Yep, indeed, I really enjoyed the two weeks with my mum… and I also understood that my daily need for coke and beer has genetic reasons! Thank you mum…
